Dog Tracks

Ever thought about what makes a good walk for a dog? What ingredients are necessary for a satisfied mutt?...

Mud... mud... mud.. water.. brambles... sticks... smells.. space to run... did I mention mud?...

But how do dogs communicate that they're enjoying a walk, how to they interact with the space and how on earth would you create a dog's map of The Park?

Perhaps a 'wagometer', measuring both horizontal and vertical movement of the dog's tail. Frequency and direction of tail wag would be impoartant variables.

Shallow arc, close to ground - Calm dog, peaceful
Wide arc, mid height - Happy dog, interested
Helicopter style motion - Very excited and enthusiastic dog

What would this map look like? Where would dogs be least excited about or the most. Would there be general trends or would it be too dog specific?

Or perhaps, a Pee'n'Sniff map. Are dogs tending to sniff the same spots or the same types of spots. And what would any of this tell us?
