photographyCalling all DisorienteerersSubmitted by jennasingleton on Wed, 2007-04-18 15:46.The disorienteering are busy pulling together our materials and our little challenges and now we are looking for victims/participants/mappers/guinea pigs! We want to do our mapping over the bank holiday weekend - preferably on the Saturday and need some mappers to help us. The activity will be simple and fun - we'll arm you with some tools and send you out into the park to explore and disorienteer! You will hopefully come back to us with some interesting thoughts, inspirations and daft pictures (cameras supplied!) »
Pinhole photographySubmitted by Beth on Mon, 2007-02-12 16:37.A pinhole camera is a camera without a conventional glass lens. An extremely small hole in a very thin material can focus light by confining all rays from a scene through a single point. In order to produce a reasonably clear image, the aperture has to be a small pinhole on the order of 0.5 mm (0.02 inches) or less. The shutter of a pinhole camera usually consists of a hand operated flap of some light-proof material to cover and uncover the pinhole. Twinned CitiesSubmitted by david-le-mud on Sat, 2007-02-10 18:58.Twinning is the name for cities that share similarities. They are sometimes called Sister Cities. Durham is twinned with Tübingen (both are medieval university cities, for example). »
